Online counselling for agoraphobia
I have a special interest in providing online counselling to people who experience agoraphobia. Agoraphobia is very treatable, but many people find accessing counselling and support outside of their homes difficult, due to the nature of the problem. My interest in providing online counselling was strengthened throughout my work over twenty years working as a group facilitator, for a government funded program called Telelink. Telelink aims to connect people who are socially isolated with others who have common interests and issues. For fifteen of those years I facilitated the Panic and Anxiety Telelink, a telephone support group for women who suffered from panic attacks and agoraphobia and other anxiety disorders. Through facilitating the Panic and Anxiety Telelink , I saw the difficulties that many women had in being able to leave the house to access counselling. I also saw the great benefits that the women gained from participating in the Telelink once a week, via their home telephone. It was a privilege to be able to assist the women to acknowledge and develop their skills, and tap into their courage, and be able to expand their horizons outside of their homes. Nowadays with the internet, people can access counselling from their homes via their home computer or mobile phone. I provide online counselling for agoraphobia and other issues via a teleconference program used by health professionals called VSee, that is similar to Skype, but that meets security and confidentiality standards for health professionals. Please feel free to contact me through the contact form on this website to make an appointment or for any enquiries or questions. At this stage, I only offer this counselling service to Australian residents. Thank you.
